By reducing humidity, the vector of propagation of different pathogens decreases and therefore biosanitary conditions improve, reducing diseases in animals such as lameness, mastitis and mastitis mainly.

BREWER'S BAGASSE

The bagasse is a by-product of the brewing industry resulting from the malting and alcoholic fermentation processes of cereal grain (barley, basically). It is a wet product with a dry matter content of 20-25%. In addition, the beer bagasse is a by-product rich in proteins, with an average protein content of 24-26% on dry matter. The ether extract represents 8% and the ash extract 4% (mostly organic Phosphorus, Sulphur and Calcium). It is also a by-product rich in fibre, with a content of NDF (Neutral Detergent Fibre) of 53% and FAD (Acid Detergent Fibre) of 27%.
The metabolizable energy content of this by-product is highly interesting, with a UFL (Milk Forage Units) of 1.11 and a UFC (Meat Forage Units) of 1.05. It is therefore a food with a high protein content, this being a protein that largely escapes ruminal degradation.
LIQUID BREWER'S YEAST

Brewer’s yeast is a by-product of the brewing industry resulting from the alcoholic fermentation process of malted cereal grain (basically barley). It is a liquid product containing between 5-8% protein, whose ether extract represents between 3-5% and the ash extract 1% (mostly organic phosphorus and calcium). It is an interesting by-product because it is a good source of B vitamins, especially thiamine (B1) and folic acid (B9), which favors an increase in the animals’ appetite (highly recommended in liquid pig diets).
The addition of live yeast to the ration of dairy cows promotes the growth of fibrolytic bacteria and fiber digestion, reduces ruminal lactate concentration (and helps control pH).
